What a beautiful day!! We couldn't have asked for better weather for a 5k walk! Abundant sunshine and 70's! Wow! Coming down to the wire the last few days, our donations starting coming in more and more. We raised a grand total of $875! Yay...I'm so proud of us. This goes to a wonderful cause and I'm so proud to be a part of getting the word out to those mothers who need to know.
We got to the walk this morning a little after 9:00am and met Kristy, Richard and Drew as they were walking up to the pavilion. The volunteers for the walk had a breakfast spread out for everyone, materials for Preeclampsia and also merchandise for sell. I'm a little disappointed at the turn out this year, but it didn't bring me down at all. I was extremely proud of our team and no matter who shows up, I will always be there to show my support to the Preeclampsia Foundation! This is an important cause to me and I will not stop the fight! There were a few reasons why we had a less crowd than last year. A team from Alabama stayed home to help with the relief efforts for the tornado victims (rightly so, our prayers go out to them), there was the big cancer walk this weekend and Mother's Day is tomorrow. So, hopefully next year, we will stay clear of holidays and hopefully we will see more people out! I know I we will be there!
We had a great time walking. We did the 5k and it seemed to go by so much faster than last year. The park is a great place to walk. There was a lot of activity going on and the scenery was really nice. There were also honeysuckles that filled the air with their sweet aroma. As always, we laughed and joked and got some great exercise in the process.
So another year down and if the Lord is willing, we will have many more to go! Guess I should think about volunteering from now on. Hmmm...

It was perfect! We will definitely be there every year! I can't think of a cause as close to my heart (literally) than the Preeclampsia Foundation. I told Lori to let us know when she starts planning for next year and you and I will distribute flyers and information to OB offices and other locations. We have a rocking team! Anyone who would like to join us is more than welcome!
